The basis of the charge appears to center on Jacob, who also is a former Olympic snowboarder and an experienced skydiver, telling investigators that he didn’t know the location of the plane’s wreckage when, in fact, he and a friend flew a helicopter to the site, loaded up the wreckage using straps, and then airlifted it to a cattle ranch winery where they stuck it in a trailer, according to prosecutors.
